Wow. Wow. Wow!

The editorial assessment for FAHLI just landed in my inbox — and I'm absolutely buzzing.
I won't share everything my editor said, but the phrase I'll be carrying with me for a long time is this: "Wow. Wow. Wow."
That's it. That's all I needed.
For anyone who has spent years on something (quietly, stubbornly, in the early mornings and the late nights), you'll know what it means to have someone read it and come back with three words like that. It's a whole bowlful of relief, and sugary fuel.
FAHLI itself is essentially complete. The next step is getting the copy editor in to clean up any minor grammar and spelling, and then this book is done. Finished. Real.
The first half of this year has been a full sprint, illustrating, building out all the visual elements the book needs, pulling together everything that makes FAHLI its own world while keeping it rooted in IYANWA. It has been a lot of work, but it felt necessary, and also fluid, this book had already written itself in my mind, I just had to watch my fingers do the typing.
June 23rd is looking good.
I can't wait to share this one with you.
