What to Expect at the IYANWA Booth
I’m C.J. Biggin, author and illustrator of the IYANWA middle-grade fantasy series. At the booth you’ll find:
Games for Kids
Come play. Kids can take a break from the carnival rush, try a game, and dip into the world of IYANWA, draw your very own Koa-Kua, write their strengths and weakness and get a free candy!
Free Bookmarks and Stickers
Every young reader who visits can pick up IYANWA bookmarks and stickers. They’re a great way to mark a place in any book, and stickers always go over well on water bottles, notebooks, and backpacks.
Softcover and Hardcover Books
I’ll have IYANWA available in both softcover and hardcover, so you can pick the format that suits your reader, or grab a hardcover as a gift!
What Is IYANWA?
IYANWA is a middle-grade fantasy adventure written and illustrated by C.J. Biggin. It’s the first book in a planned trilogy, and the second book, FAHLI, will soon be available. Fahli is the prequel to IYANWA and follows a very different path through the island!
Great for: Readers ages 8-12, fans of fantasy adventure, and families who love books with original worlds and illustrations.
Why Come to a Halloween Carnival Book Booth?
Halloween is a perfect moment to get kids excited about reading. Costumes, candy, and spooky fun already invite kids to imagine, and a fantasy book is the natural next step. It’s also a chance to meet the person behind the story. Kids often read with more enthusiasm after they’ve talked with the author who wrote it.
Teachers and Parents: Free Resources
If you’re an educator, I offer free Teacher Resource Kits for IYANWA and FAHLI at cjbiggin.com/teacher-resources. Stop by the booth and I'd be glad to talk about classroom use and school visits.
