Reading IYANWA, Chapter 2, to a school in Yorkshire, 2025!

Every year we head to the UK, we make a point to spend some good time seeing our close friends (it's one of the highlights!). We sit and mull over life, work, food, and Manchester United. After writing IYANWA, and hearing their feedback, I was recommended to perhaps create teacher resource kits, which could be used in class.

I hadn't thought about the opportunity of bringing IYANWA (or FAHLI) into the class, but I've since read chapter 2 in numerous classes, both in the UK and San Diego to a great many questions and conversations about the book. So I decided that recommendation should be taken head on! So, I've been busy working on some teacher resource kits and they are finally ready to share with anyone, but in particular teachers looking for activities to pursue in the classroom!

These activity kits are aimed for kids ages 9-11, and include a whole bunch of fun content, namely, I would say split into a few categories:

Teacher Resources for Problem Solving / Motor Skills

  • Coloring-in Pages

  • Wordsearches

  • Mazes

  • Create Your Own Koa-Kua Drawing Pages

  • Dot-to-Dot Drawing

Teacher Resources Focusing on Language Skills

  • Reading Comprehension Sheets

  • Creative Writing Prompt Cards

  • Discussion Question Cards

  • Book Report

Each of these items focuses on particular skills, and I'm pumped to be able to share them, free of charge (no sign-up required) for both IYANWA and FAHLI on the Teacher Resource Page

If your class takes on one of the writing prompts or finds their way through the maze, please share it. Tag me on social media or drop me a message!

Power to all teachers out there who are helping our children become their best selves!

Cheers, and happy creating!
